View from Here: August 2019

As my favorite baseball movie likes to mention that we are entering the Dog Days of Summer at this point in the year.

Dogs, days and Summer aside: we are busy here at MKG.

  • Team members are taking some much-needed vacation to recharge their batteries
  • Clients are launching new web, search and PPC programs with us
  • These same clients are being recognized as leaders by industry analysts and groups of their own peers (very rewarding!)

Let’s recap the last month of our lives from our point of view!

Christian’s Family Visits the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah

According to our friends at utah.com “The Bonneville Salt Flats is one of the most unique natural features in Utah, stretching over 30,000 acres.”

That’s a lot of salt, my friends!

Take a look at the photos that Christian snapped of the Salt Flats below.

ExtraHop Networks Wins “Best AI-based Solution for CyberSecurity” from AI Breakthrough

The wins keep on rolling in for our client ExtraHop Networks. Following their recognition as a top cybersecurity business in the JPM Elite 80 List the analysts at AI Breakthrough named ExtraHop Reveal(x) as the winner of the “Best AI-based Solution for CyberSecurity” award.

“ExtraHop is the first to combine automated discovery and asset classification of every asset and transaction on the network with cloud-based machine learning, anomaly detection and critical asset focus for high-fidelity, low volume alerts and zero false positives,” says James Johnson, managing director, AI Breakthrough.

We’re proud to continue to help lead ExtraHop Networks SEO and PPC demand generation responsibilities as they pile on the recognition from colleagues in their industry!

Shane Job from our client, MariaDB, interviewed by Computing

Computing spoke with our client, Shane Johnson of MariaDB, about some of the factors driving change in the database market as well as the adoption of hybrid database technology capable of doing more than conventional database products.

When asked why anyone should re-open the debate around database technology, Shane had the following to say:

The status quo is once again being disrupted by a convergence of changes. As companies undergo digital transformation and shift to online customer engagement, there are multiple challenges.

First, they need to shift budget to development and architecture. So they’re looking to cut their costs and reliance on proprietary software, and use the savings to innovate where it matters most - applications.

Second, they need to become cloud native.
