You. You are the voice in the room that everyone looks to for eloquant solutions to complex SEO challenges. Lead the strategy and execution as your experienced SEO recommendations and - most importantly - show results.
This is remote working position. Therefore this position works best for parents and/or caregivers - people who are self motivated to get work done well, efficiently, and right the first time because time is limited between balancing home and work. You must have strong communication skills across multiple channels - video, phone, email, and Slack.
We are a flat organization. The people designing the strategy also pull the levers - uncovering technical and content opportunities through an exstensive audit, providing recommendations through presentations and documentation, teaching clients SEO best practices, walking developers through the what/why/how, and more. Ownership of strategy and execution means you have full control of all SEO activities from end to end. This ownership minimizes miscommunication and allows you to collaborate with other experts in SEO, Digital Advertising, and Analytics.
This is a contract to hire position. Given the distributed nature of our company and our agile, tight-knit culture, it’s every important for both the new hire and the company that everyone works well together. We like to take three months as a trial period to confirm this is the case.
You will support one to three clients with the guidance of an Account Director. You will be responsible for Organic Search Strategy and Execution for these clients. There will be a transition process between yourself and the current MKG stakeholder.
You’ll also be supporting and sharing knowledge with the current SEO Directors. They’ll be working with you on tasks to support their clients and develop your SEO expertise, specifically on the topics of of Technical SEO and Content Strategy.
BRIGHTEDGE POWER USER
We are a BrightEdge agency. We use it for all our SEO clients to track keywords, analyze current SERP performance, and uncover new recommendations. We need someone who knows how to use all aspects of the platform.
Ability to audit a new or existing client site and identify top priorities across Technical SEO, On-Page optimization, Site Architecture (and more!) to improve rankings or prevent penalties.
KEYWORD RESEARCH & STRATEGY
Experience using industry-leading tools such as BrightEdge or Google Search Connsole to perform extensive keyword research to recommend strategy for our clients.
“Quarterback” client content strategy on what content to create, building content outlines with keyword research/SEO best practices, and working with client managed writers to produce new content. During the interview process we will ask for examples - please come prepared.
Ability to dissect every optimizable element to provide on-page optimizations that will help increase the search engine results page (SERP) ranking for that URL.
Good content ‘earns’ links. We need to identify promising and scalable inbound linking opportunities through a well-documented approach.
Completing the cycle of a task. E.g. going from analyzing year over year of data and finding how why certain trends are happening to create numeric and named goals for upcoming SEO activities.
Problem solve. What are some of the challenges our clients website faces in trying to rank against their competitors? How would you best solve those given the clients resources and goals?
Have the ability to walk through your recommendations with the client in a way they understand. In short: Explain the “why” behind your recommendation.
You can talk about the client’s products or solutions completely. We work with clients who sell complicated products and services; to produce effective work, we need to understand their business.
Complete ownership of 2-3 clients by the end of the three-month contract period.
Helping each and every teammate out when asked - making sure you have a good understanding of what needs to get done, then executing with minimal overview or back and forth by end of three months.
