View from Here - September 2019 Update
Mike Krass • September 3, 2019 • 4 minutes to read2019 is officially two-thirds of the way over. Where has the year gone? As time continues to fly, September brings things like:
- Pumpkin spiced everything assaulting everyone's senses (latte's, candy corn, pie, bread, etc.)
- School is back in session
- Football can be found on TV at least 5 nights a week
Speaking of football, let's start there as we recap the last thirty days here at MKG Marketing.
Browns Fan Continues to Claim "This is our year!"
I've never met a fan base who was collectively all on brand and message.
Have you ever spoken to a Cleveland Browns fan? If so, I'm sure one of the first things that came out of their mouth was.
I'm telling you man this is our year!
The only other thing you'll hear them say when things are going poorly is...
Next year. I'm telling you next year is our year!
MKG's resident Cleveland Browns fan, Christina Kay, made it to one of their preseason games to cheer them on. Check it out!

Some of MKG's Favorite People are on the Move
A few of our favorite people that we've worked with in the past are on the move.
Steven Shapiro just joined CleverTap to lead their GTM plans for the Americas. We've worked with Steven over the past few years during his time at:
- Cloud product and services marketing at VMware
- DevOps lead generation efforts at Weaveworks
- Organic search growth at Informatica
Please join us in clicking on this link to say 'Welcome to CleverTap' to Steven on LinkedIn.

Another one of our favorite demand generation friends, Lindsey Reisbeck, recently joined DataStax as their Senior Director of Global Marketing Operations and Analytics.
While we sent Steven a few bottles of Napa red wine to help him ease into the new role, our team got creative and sent Lindsey a bundle of TaskRabbit credits to use as she sees fit.
Starting a new job often means long hours and TaskRabbit credits can help you get lunch delivered to your desk or have someone mow your lawn because you're just too busy to get to it!
I'd also like to mention that Lindsey is hiring. Check out her job post here on LinkedIn!

Talking about Marketing with El Centro's Cohort #4
I had the pleasure of meeting with the new cohort at the New Orleans chapter of El Centro. El Centro's mission is to provide financial education and counseling to individuals and entrepreneurs of different nationalities Latinas.
Should you want to learn more about this national organization, feel free to check out their website to learn more about the services and education they provide: [https://www.elcentrola.org/what-we-do.html](https://www.elcentrola.org/what-we-do.html
The evening was full of energy: every single one of the business owners came prepared with questions as well as confirmed that they learned 2 or 3 things that they could do immediately to help improve the performance of their digital marketing efforts.

New Clients: Amperity, Conviva and Octapharma USA
August was a busy month as we put pen-to-paper with three fantastic new client organizations.
We were reunited with our old colleague Adam Sinnett at Amperity. LinkedIn named Amperity one of the hottest new companies in the United States of America. Awesome news!
Conviva is developing and bringing technology to market that every single one of you sees every day. Their product is used by brands like HBO, Hulu, Netflix, CBS and many more to measure video analytics for streaming service applications.
Not to be left out, after discussing how to best help bring their brands into the digital age we are thrilled to announce that we will be supporting Wilate, NUWIQ, IgCares and Cutaquig's digital marketing activity across search, social and analytics beginning in September.
Sneak Peak: Denver In-Person Summit
Later this month the entire team will be flying to beautiful Denver, Colorado, for 48 hours of team building activities.
Stay tuned for next month's update as we post video and photos from the Summit :)
That's all He Wrote!
You know how this part of the post goes: we're all finished for this month!
